PanaTeQ’s VPX3-RFSOC is a 3U OpenVPX module based on the Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC device from Xilinx. The Zynq UltraScale+ RFSoC integrates a Quad-core ARM Cortex-A53 based Application Processing Unit (APU), a Dual-core ARM Cortex-R5 based Real-Time Processing Unit (RPU) and an UltraScale+ Programmable Logic (PL) in a single device. It also integrates a RF Data Converter Subsystem that provides 8x 12-bit, 4GS/s ADC and 8x 14-bit 6.4GS/s DAC, available on 12x SSMC board front connectors.   The first version of the board will be equipped with  a XCZU25DR-1FFVE1156 device tightly coupled to 4/8GB of 64-bit with 8-bit ECC of DDR4- 2400 Processing Memory. 1/2GB 64-bit of DDR4-2400 is available as the Programmable Logic Memory, allowing data streaming applications signal processing.   The board can act as Single Board Computer in the VPX system due to its on-board PCIe Gen2 Switch. When VPX3-ZU1 is System Controller, it can manage up to 8x 3U OpenVPX slots with a PCIe x1 Gen2 link per slots. There is no need to add any SBC in the VPX system, improving Size, Weight, Power and Cost (SWaP-C) A large number of Zynq Ultrascale+ RFSoC peripherals are available on VPX backplane : 2x USB 3.0/2.0, 2x USB 2.0, 1x SATA 3.1, 2x CAN-2.0B, 2x RS-232/422/485, 4x MGT , 20x GPIO. The VPX signals pinout is compatible with PanaTeQ’s VPX3-ZU1 module and Rear Transition I/O RTM-ZU1-A.
